One of the reasons why you may choose to stop playing online baccarat and visit a Las Vegas casino instead is for the live entertainment. Las Vegas is renowned for hosting world-class acts that regularly delight audiences. However, sometimes, things do go wrong.

Recently, a French Justin Bieber impersonator tricked staff at Wynn Las Vegas’s XS Nightclub, fooled DJ Gryffin and the crowd, performed “Sorry”, and ran up a bar tab of nearly $10,000, all before being kicked out and banned for life.

On Saturday, August 16, 2025, 29-year-old Dylan Desclos, who comes from Normandy in France, pulled off a truly impressive nightclub prank. Complete with tattoos, the hairstyle, and an uncanny resemblance to Bieber, he showed up with a small entourage that claimed to be Bieber’s new management team. He then spoke to DJ Gryffin and convinced him to let “Bieber” perform live. The dark lighting and pounding music worked in his favor, Gryffin later admitted he was fooled, even joking that he thought, “Damn, he put on a lot of weight since the album dropped.” Desclos delivered a performance of “Sorry” that lasted exactly 4 minutes and 27 seconds before the staff caught on and realized he wasn’t the real deal.

However, the stunt didn’t stop at the performance. Videos from that night show him walking inside the venue, taking selfies with clubgoers, and being treated like royalty, complete with white-glove service and faux security. During the night, he and his team managed to rack up a bar tab of almost $10,000 on bottle service. However, Desclos did pay the bill before being escorted out.

A History of Playing Bieber

For those familiar with Dylan Desclos, this wasn’t his first time making headlines as a Bieber double. Over the years, he has attracted a following online for his impressive imitations of the pop star. From the tattoos to the fashion choices, Desclos had truly perfected the look, and he has built an online persona with numerous fans on TikTok and Instagram.

In fact, his resemblance has even caught the attention of Justin Bieber’s wife, Hailey, who once commented, “I’m scared” on a video of Desclos performing at a train station in 2024. Her comment helped secure his reputation as the “French Bieber” and led to him receiving media attention.

However, the scale of the deception at the XS Nightclub was greater than anything he had previously attempted, and unsurprisingly, the reaction from the nightclub was very fast. Wynn Las Vegas issued a formal statement acknowledging the “multi-step ruse” carried out by Desclos and permanently banned him from all Wynn properties.

Questions Surrounding Las Vegas Security

The prank has raised serious questions about security in Las Vegas. The city’s nightclubs are used to dealing with celebrity guests and entourages, often fast-tracking them past regular security protocols. It is this system of privilege that Desclos exploited, by impersonating Justin Bieber and tricking the staff. However, celebrities have been known to spontaneously visit Vegas, so venues will now be attempting to draw up a foolproof identification system.

Furthermore, Las Vegas is no stranger to celebrity impersonators. Very often, impersonators are employed to perform, and they can often be found on the streets. As such, it is arguable that Desclos simply brought the tradition into the modern era, with the added twist of social media hugely increasing his reach.

For DJ Gryffin, the experience turned into an online joke, with fans dubbing the incident “Beibergate”. Gryffin himself seemed to take it in stride, posting lighthearted videos recounting his shock when he realized he had been duped.

Despite his ban from Wynn properties, Desclos has not really suffered for his prank. It has hugely increased his fame, particularly online, and he will now be recognized far beyond France. However, only time will tell whether the incident will lead to more opportunities to perform or simply more caution from global venues.
