UNO Is Not Coming to Las Vegas Casino Tables

Uno Not Coming To Las Vegas
Listen to this article:

If you are a regular player of online baccarat, then you have probably tried your hand at a number of other casino card games, such as blackjack and poker. Occasionally, you may have also come across some more unusual casino card games, such as solitaire. However, despite recent rumors, one game that won’t be arriving at casinos any time soon is UNO.

The rumors arose after Mattel and the Palms Casino Resort announced the arrival of the UNO Social Club, a special, private event that was held from July 18 to 20, 2025. Despite speculation online and several misleading headlines, UNO is not becoming a Las Vegas casino game.

The UNO Social Club was a limited-time, invite-only promotional experience. One contest winner and their guest were treated to a colorful stay in a game-themed suite at the Palms, complete with branded décor, a private bowling alley, and multiple custom versions of the classic card game. The event featured real dealers to shuffle and explain the rules, but no betting took place, and the experience was not open to the general public.

Mattel’s aim wasn’t to bring the game to the casino floor but rather to launch a new national campaign focused on transforming casual game nights into immersive social experiences. The Palms event was the first of many planned “UNO Social Clubs” set to pop up in bars and event spaces across the country later this year. These future events will include themed cocktails, tournament-style play, and interactive moments, but again, no gambling.

However, the Las Vegas setting led many to believe otherwise. Posts across social media falsely claimed UNO tables were “live” in the city’s casinos. The Palms Casino Resort never offered the game as part of its licensed gaming floor, and the Nevada Gaming Control Board has not approved it as a legal casino game.

Its inclusion in any real-money casino setting would be a violation of gaming laws, which restrict betting to officially approved games. UNO, a casual family game developed in 1971 by barber Merle Robbins and later acquired by Mattel, has never been among them.

Inside the UNO Social Club Experience

The UNO Social Club suite at Palms was themed with the game’s iconic red, yellow, blue, and green colors and packed with game-branded decorations.Mattel’s contest, which ran from May 19 to June 19, asked fans to submit TikTok videos using a new UNO Reverse Card filter with hashtags #UNOSocialClub and #MattelContest.

The chosen winner received a weekend package for two that included custom cocktails, private gameplay, and three exciting UNO variants: UNO Golf, where players discard high cards and aim to keep low ones for the best score, UNO Teams, in which partners work together to empty their hands simultaneously, and UNO Show ‘Em No Mercy, a chaotic twist on the original with tougher penalties and crazy new rules.

A personal game host led the activities, but unlike blackjack or poker, no money changed hands. Social media influencer @itszuose, who attended the event, even joked, “It was a good thing there was no betting bc I would’ve lost a lot of money.”

UNO Is Expanding – But Not to Casinos

According to Mattel’s Vice President and Global Head of Games, Ray Adler, the goal of UNO Social Clubs is to “reimagine what game night can be – bringing people together for real-world fun, connection, and a bit of friendly competition.”

The Las Vegas debut was designed to start a broader campaign. Later this year, Mattel plans to roll out similar UNO Social Club events across major U.S. cities, transforming bars and entertainment spaces into UNO-themed hangouts. While these experiences will feature games, music, and drinks, they will not involve real-money betting, casino licensing, or gambling of any kind.

In short, while UNO may have come to Las Vegas for a weekend, there are no plans for it to be included among the casino tables. To the disappointment of fans, despite the flashy suite, custom decks, and real dealers, the UNO Social Club at the Palms was purely a marketing event. So, while it may be continuing to evolve, UNO is not becoming a Las Vegas casino game anytime soon.
